Citywest and Punchestown vaccination centres confirm opening hours for Covid-19 booster jabs

All adults are now eligible for a second Covid-19 vaccine booster and Citywest and Punchestown Vaccination centres have announced details for their clinics over the coming days.

From this week, people aged 18-49 years can make an appointment for their second Covid-19 booster dose at the HSE’s official website . Boosters give protection against serious illness and increase immunity to Covid-19.

Here are the details for local Covid-19 Vaccination Centres over the coming days and into next week.

Citywest Vaccination Centre

Saturday 31st December 2022

5-11 years old 4:00pm - 5:45pm

Wednesday 4th January 2023

12 years and older 10.15am - 7.45pm

Saturday 7th January 2023

12 years and older 8.15am - 3.00pm

5-11 years old 4.00pm - 5.45pm

Sunday 8th January 2023

12 years and older 8.15 am - 5.45pm

Punchestown vaccination centre

Thursday 5th January 2023

12 years and older 11:00am - 7:00pm

Friday 6th January 2023

HSE chief Dr Colm Henry recently raised concern about the steep rise in Covid-19 cases, as well as influenza and other respiratory illness at this time. Getting a vaccine “whether it’s your next Covid-19 booster, or a flu vaccine” is the best way to protect yourself, the people around you and the health services, he said.

In the week ending on December 24th, 2,329 flu cases were reported, compared to 1,174 the previous week. People needing hospital admission for flu jumped to 637, from 299 the previous week. Covid-19 cases increased to 3,809, compared to 3,118 the previous week, with 737 people in hospital with Covid-19.
