The police station in Old Market has closed its doors for the final time ahead of a redevelopment that will see it knocked down and replaced with a huge social housing scheme. The new design includes a smaller police station on the ground floor.
The enquiry office at the station has been closed to the public since March 2, ahead of the planned construction work by The Guinness Partnership. Bristol Live understands retired officers were invited back for one last visit to the existing building last week to say farewell with sandwiches and cake.
The proposed redevelopment by TGP will see 104 affordable rental and shared ownership apartments built, ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedrooms.
