Cities: Skylines 2 is a city-builder life simulator that was developed by Colossal Order. The game has had some rough patches recently.

Despite its various bugs and issues, the game still has a lot of popular features and mechanics that keep some players hooked. The problem for some people then rests on how to actually get a lot of money in order to build their dream cities and structures.

This guide will help players understand the methods of making money in Cities: Skylines 2. It will also tell you which ones are the most efficient to do. There are a lot of things you can take advantage of in the game to make a quick buck.

Sell Electricity and Water

One of the simplest ways of making consistent money in is by selling excess electricity and water that you get to neighboring cities.

You can use a Small Coal Power Plant or Wind Turbine in the early stages and transition to a Geothermal Power Plant later on, according to IGN.

The thing to note about this money-making method is that the running costs are relatively expensive. But as long as your plant runs efficiently, you should not encounter any problems making a profit.

Make Districts and Impost Parking Fees

Another good way of making money in the game is imposing special policies whenever you create new districts. These include Energy Consumption Awareness, Recycling, and a Roadside Parking Fee.

The latter can give you anywhere from $10 to $50 for any vehicle that is parked on the roadside within the district. Because there are thousands of cars parked this way, this particular fee can become a substantial money maker for you.

Optimize Your Service Budget

One of the reasons why some players are not able to save enough money is because of their ill-optimized Services budget. You can see how much you spend on various features in the economy menu under Services, Screen Rant said.

While various areas need to have a lot of money, you can somewhat cut back on their budget if they are not being fully utilized. This is another key part of actually streamlining your cash flow to keep yourself from wasting money.

Work on New Milestones

You can rank your city up in order to get rewards such as a huge amount of cash. This is not necessarily a stable source of money in the long run. However, it is a great way of getting cash when you need it.

In order to rank up, you need to take care of your citizens and expand your city. Various actions, such as building new roads or putting down some service buildings all give you experience points, according to The Gamer.
