Cineworld: Bristol cinema to offer £3 tickets for all films for just one day this week

Cinema-goers in Bristol will have the opportunity to snap up a top cinematic experience for a few pounds at Cineworld this week. The UK's leading cinema chain has announced 'Cineworld Day' in a grand celebration commemorating the nation's love of the big screen for one day only on Saturday, February 26.

The inaugural Cineworld Day will take place across all corners of the UK as Cineworld reduces its ticket prices to £3 for all films, all day, in all cinematic formats in addition to regular 2D. Cineworld Bristol, located at Hengrove Leisure Park is taking part in the limited offer, equipped with 12 screens offering both 2D and 3D experiences.

Death of the Nile, Cyrano, The Duke, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Valimai are some of the latest releases on offer at Cineworld Bristol, with blockbuster Uncharted starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg bringing the action across four screenings. If you're looking for a new family favourite, Sing 2 and Clifford the Big Red Dog will have a selection of screenings on Saturday to keep children entertained.

Also part of the Cineworld group, Picturehouse will be offering £3 film tickets on Saturday as part of their cinema celebration. Those looking for a more intimate cinema experience can also go to The Little Theatre Cinema in Bath, which is also part of the promotion.

Stuart Crane, Vice President of Film for Cineworld Group said: “The last two years have been especially difficult for the cinema industry, but with the huge crowds returning through our doors for movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home and with so many exciting movies to look forward to in 2022, like The Batman, Morbius, Top Gun: Maverick, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Jurassic World: Dominion, we wanted to celebrate everything that people love about cinema and everything that there is to look forward to at Cineworld, the best place to watch a movie.”

The film industry has taken a big hit after the Covid-19 pandemic. While streaming service giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime continue to expand, there has been more pressure on cinema companies around the UK after theatres were closed to the public and film releases were postponed.

Despite Covid cases remaining high, the release Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 2021 quickly became the highest-grossing film of 2021 and the sixth highest-grossing film of all time just over a month after its theatrical release. While the likes of Netflix have started a home cinema trend, film-lovers still crave blockbuster cinematic experiences in high definition in theatres.

It's worth noting for fans of the big screen in South Bristol that the Cineworld Bristol site is expected to be replaced by a housing complex in summer 2022. The Hengrove Cineworld has been the only cinema still open south of the river for many years, therefore when it closes, South Bristol will have no cinema for the first time in more than 100 years.
