The Cincinnati Bengals will play the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI.
Those Bengals advanced to their first Super Bowl since 1988 thanks to Sunday’s overtime thriller against the Kanas City Chiefs in which the defense held Patrick Mahomes to three points in the second half, storming back from an 18-point deficit.

It’s would’ve been poetic, of course, if the opponent had been the 49ers. They’ve been the opponent for Cincinnati’s only two Super Bowl appearances, both losses (’81 and ’88).
Instead, it’s the Rams, where old friend Andrew Whitworth is still going strong. More notably, Zac Taylor will matchup against his former boss, Sean McVay, whose coaching tree got the Bengals started on this path.
