Cillian Murphy is one of the most recognizable actors working these days, from his breakout work in 28 Days Later to his Oscar-nominated lead role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
When you look at his history at the Academy Awards, you strangely don’t have to look very far. His nomination for Oppenheimer this year is his first with the Academy, as he’s never been recognized in the past for his acting.
It’s a very surprising thing to realize, but he very well may win on his very first nomination at the Oscars. It’d be richly deserved for what he achieves as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Nolan’s titanic film, too.
