Christopher Scott 'close' to Celtic transfer as Ange Postecoglou's side zero in on £250,000 bargain

Celtic are close to securing the services of Bayern Munich youngster Christopher Scott, according to reports.

Scott was linked back in January when he entered the final six months on his contract and Record Sport revealed at the time he would cost between €300,000 (£257,000) to €400,000 (£340,000) .

Now GhanaSoccerNet say the price will be at the low end of that spectrum in a £250,000 compensation deal.

And they say Celtic are clear favourites to get the deal done.

Ange Postecoglou made no secret of the fact Celtic were too slow off the mark in the transfer market last summer.

With the small task of Champions League football next campaign, along with a bid to keep hold of the Premiership title, the Hoops are looking to strengthen this closed season.

19-year-old Scott is attracting attention in Germany and from Premier League side Brentford after an impressive season for both club and internationally for the German U20 side.

But despite interests from elsewhere, Celtic are the favourites for his signature.

The Hoops could be in with a real bargain if they manage to snap up the youngster described as “outrageously gifted” by the the official Bundesliga website.

The attacking midfielder is looking for regular first team football, and a switch the Glasgow's east end could provide him with that.

Scott didn't featured in the German giants first team this season but has seven goals for Bayern's second string.

Celtic have also been linked with Argentinian youngster Julian Aude.

The 19-year-old Lanus left back has made 37 appearances for the Argentinian top-flight club since his debut two years ago.

However, he has recently spent time on the bench being second in line behind regular starter and the slightly more senior Alexandro Bernabei.

Ange Postecoglou's side have been linked to a number of left sided full backs already this summer, but could be focusing on Aude following positive scouting reports.

Benfica have also been linked with Aude by sports newspaper Ole in his homeland.
