Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' Batmobile goes on sale for $3 million

Die-hard Dark Knight fans with $3 million to spare, can now get their hands on a replica of the iconic Batmobile from Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed trilogy.

According to various news reports, custom car maker Action Vehicle Engineering is offering a fully functional replica of the Batmobile, for an estimated $2.99 million. This is reportedly the first time that Warner Bros. has authorised a 'Tumbler' replica for public sale.

Buzz is that only 10 units of the replica will be manufactured, and those interested in buying the vehicle will have to apply through a website - Wayne Enterprises. While the slick set of wheels can be driven, it won’t be street-legal.

Some of the impressive features include an automatic transmission, stainless steel headers and advanced software systems. The vehicle will also have a simulated jet engine, however, this one will not flame up.

The car will have it all, including the Tumbler's dashboard and other intricate design elements to stay true to its on-screen appearance.

Once the deposit is made, fans will have to wait 15 months to drive the car home.

Following the success of the 'The Dark Knight' trilogy, actors including Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson took up the mantle of the caped crusader. Pattinson will soon star in the upcoming Matt Reeves directed 'The Batman II'. The film is slated for release in October 2026.
