Manchester United have reportedly written down the name of RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku on their transfer wish list for the summer.
The 24-year-old is being considered as one of the options the club could bring in to bolster their options. United are set to lose at least two midfielders in Paul Pogba and Juan Mata at the end of the season.
The likes of Ruben Neves, Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips have been linked with a move to Old Trafford. But Nkunku is a different type of player to the more defensive-minded choices and United will be keen to bring in more than one midfielder ahead of a revamp under a new manager.

Nkunku has pulled up some excellent stats this season having played all but two of Leipzig’s matches, often being played as a striker in recent matches. The Frenchman has netted 28 times in all competitions, including a hat-trick against Manchester City in their 6-3 Champions League group stage loss in September.
His form earned him his first call-up to the France national team for last month’s friendlies, making his debut in a 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast. The 24-year-old offers versatility, being able to play on the wings as well as just behind the striker.
Sky Germany reports that Nkunku has been placed on their watchlist and his name has been discussed internally. However, the United hierarchy are concerned about overloading the squad with ‘too many other options’, despite Ralf Rangnick's links with Leipzig making a deal possible.
Meanwhile, Juventus have joined United in the race for Ajax talent Antony. The winger is said to be one of Erik ten Hag’s favourites at the Dutch club so United may be in a great position to land him if the 52-year-old is appointed at Old Trafford.
Calciomercato (via Goal) says Juventus are serious about an offer for the winger, who will cost around £30m. Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the Brazilian international, who has netted 12 goals and assisted 10 more this season.
