Forgotten defender Christopher Jullien is reportedly set to end his Celtic spell as he prepares to undergo his Montpellier medical.
Jullien has yet to feature for the Scottish Premiership champions this season, and has made after just one appearance under Ange Postecoglou, in a Scottish Cup cameo against Raith Rovers when he was handed just 16 minutes of game time. The 29-year-old had been set to leave Parkhead earlier this summer after passing a medical at Schalke, but he failed to agree personal terms over a loan move as returned to Lennoxtown for pre-season.
Jullien ha spent much of the last 18 months injured after colliding with the post in a league clash against Dundee United in January 2021, but looks set to finally draw a line under his time in Glasgow's east end. L'Equipe report that he is set for a medical with Ligue 1 side on Tuesday to seal a loan switch.
Should he be given the green light to complete the move, it will likely draw his spell at Celtic to a close having already entered the final year of his contract. Following his return from injury last term, the centre-back faced a tough task of dislodging Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt after the duo formed an impressive partnership at the heart of the title-winning defence.
Stephen Welsh was Postecoglou's preferred back-up option. Moritz Jenz has also made his case for a starting spot after arriving from Lorient this summer.
