Christine McGuinness 'on top of the world' after Paddy McGuinness split and hints at new TV project

Christine McGuinness has hinted at a new TV project she is working on. The reality TV star revealed she was feeling “on top of the world” after her marriage split from TV star Paddy.

Last month the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star separated from the Top Gear host after 11 years, although they still share the family home with their three children. But now she has posted photos of her enjoying life alone in various London locations accompanied by the Imagine Dragons track On Top Of The World.

According to the Mirror the 36-year-old shared an image with her 681,000 followers captioned: “And suddenly you know. It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” She also hinted at a TV project with another photo showing her alongside a TV camera.

The talk of new plans comes after she admitted that Paddy, 48, disliked her being a star on the ITVBe reality show. In her book A Beautiful Nightmare, she wrote: “No one close to me really wanted me to become a Cheshire Housewife, least of all my husband.

“He didn’t want a wife in the public eye and this show’s reputation was that of drama and glitzy parties. Neither of which was or is now my life. I was just a full-time mother to our children.

“Life was completely different for Patrick. For the first five years of having the kids, he carried on having his holidays and golfing trips. I never did.

“But I’d always wave him off and say ‘Go and enjoy yourself, have a lovely time’. Secretly I’d resent him so much. He’d come back with the best tan ever and I’d be exhausted after having the kids on my own.

“I wanted that freedom so much, but I just didn’t have it. I struggled with the whole life he was living, because it was not my life, it was his. I was just a wife at home and he had this separate existence.”

Announcing their split on Instagram last month, the couple wrote: “We took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus, as always, is to continue loving and supporting our children. This was not an easy decision but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”

According to reports, Paddy, who also hosted Take Me Out, is thought to have exchanged messages with another woman in March, shortly before he and former beauty queen Christine separated lives. While there is no suggestion the messages went beyond friendship, sources said Christine – who has also appeared in The Real Full Monte and The Games – was upset after finding them on his phone. The couple had shared news of the split just hours after posting about their family holiday in Sherwood Forest's Center Parcs.
