Christine McGuinness celebrates getting her 'free time' back as she reveals 'safe place' in North West

Christine McGuinness appeared excited about getting her 'free time' back as her kids headed off back to school. The former model took to Instagram to share how nine-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and daughter Felicity, six, would be heading back to their education following the Christmas holidays on Thursday (January 5).

It comes after Christine said she had 'f****d up' earlier this week after getting her children's return date wrong. The 34-year-old shared how she had been getting her children, who have autism, ready by doing a daily countdown until their return.

However, Christine got the day they were due back in the classroom wrong. "It's only the 2nd of January and I've already f***ed up," the glam star said into the camera. "Told the kids they were going back to school tomorrow didn't I. Turns out they're not. I've been doing this whole countdown calendar, bags are packed, and uniforms are all ironed, hung up and ready to go.

"I've even polished their shoes. Yeah, they're not going back, are they. They've still got a couple of days off. I had booked all my hair, lashes and nails... I was having a full MOT."

But returning to the social media platform on Wednesday evening (January 4), Christine shared how she was now officially ready for her children to head back to school. Speaking to her 690,000 followers, Christine could be seen outside in the blustery wind. She said: "Oh my God it's so cold, what a day though in Blackpool. I was born here."

She added: "Born in Blackpool, raised in Liverpool. It still always feels like home. What a day." She then posted a follow-up video as she prepared for the drive back to Cheshire, where she still lives with ex-husband Paddy McGuinness and their three children. Christine said: "What a day. Back in the car in the warm, thank God. It's just so cold out there.

"I love coming to Blackpool, so I was born here. I only lived here I think until I was about one and then my mum and dad split up and my mum took us back to Liverpool. So that's obviously my scouse side is my mum's side so I was raised over there. But I was born here so my dads family is all over here and I've seen my dad today. I've seen my auntie Caroline and her words of wisdom. I don't know if she's the best person to listen to.

"But I used to come over here whenever I really needed somewhere to escape, Blackpool was a bit of a safe place. My family over here, they're all just a bit mad. I love them, though. They're good mad. But I'd speak to my nan and grandad for advice but they have both passed away now so my auntie Caroline was there with her little one liners. 'Do whatever you want, whatever makes you happy'."

"Anyway, I've got at least an hour to myself now driving home. I'm going to put my music on and that's just the best. Then I will go see my babies and do bedtime and hopefully have a nice first day back at school," she then went on to say. "Then mummy's got more free time," Christine added as she put her arm in the air as if to cheer.
