Christine and Paddy McGuinness’ kids don’t know their parents have split as they continue living together

Christine and Paddy McGuinness' three children are unaware their parents split up last year as they continue to live in the same house.

Despite calling time on their marriage, both Christine and Paddy said their focus would be co-parenting their three children: Penelope, nine, and seven-year-old twins Felicity and Leo. The couple split last July after 11 years of marriage and 15 years together.

Since their split, the couple chose to remain in the same house to maintain stability for their three children, who have all been diagnosed with autism alongside mum Christine. Speaking to Woman’s Own, she said: "The children don’t know any different and they’re growing up in a happy and loving home – I just want it to continue like that."

She continued: "We don’t know what the future holds but right now it works. The thought of eventually co-parenting in separate houses is something I’m going to really struggle with."

Christine has spoken previously about their unusual living arrangement, adding that she wants to keep things normal for the kids. She told OK! Magazine: "We don't know what the future holds or how it's going to be moving forward, but we'll try to keep things as normal as possible."

"I'm quite happy for him to be there with the children and it's nice for them to see Mummy and Daddy just being alright. We can sit and have a cup of tea together and that's fine.

"They're so young. I'm trying to just stick to their normal routine," she added.

The mother of three previously opened up about why she stayed in her marriage to Paddy for so long, admitting she was 'comfortable' before their split. She said: "I didn’t want my family to ever fall apart and that’s why I stayed married.

"As an autistic woman, I like to stay where I’m comfortable – I like things to stay the same. "I understand myself better now. That’s where I was comfortable – just knowing that it was me, Patrick and the children. But sometimes change has to happen. You just have to deal with it in the best way possible."
