Actress Christina Applegate said on October 20 that she does not have multiple sclerosis, about five years after she was diagnosed with the disease in 2021. Speaking on her podcast "MeSsy," which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, she said she had been misdiagnosed, according to TheWrap's report on her announcement.
Applegate has not announced a new diagnosis. "So I'm back at square one where I don't know what's going on with me," she said, adding that her doctors plan to investigate what has happened since 2021. She described years of infusions for treatment that went in the wrong direction and said she still has pain and fatigue, including pain getting out of bed.
