Christina Applegate has revealed she's getting ready to attend her first big public event since she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year.
The Anchorman actress, 50, took to social media on Thursday to showcase a selection of walking sticks she will use while at the event.
She captioned the Twitter post, which showed four sticks: "I have a very important ceremony coming up. This will be my first time out since diagnosed with MS. Walking sticks are now part of my new normal. Thank you @neowalksticks for these beauties. Stay tuned to see which ones make the cut for a week of stuff."
She interacted with a fan in the comments, saying she uses the activator stick daily, admitting she loves it, but didn't think the one she had would be suitable for the event due to the stickers she's put on it.
Other fans took to the post to share their own MS stories and to praise the star for talking openly about the disease. One user commented: "Rock those sticks and make your entrance. We all love you, christina. You've been entertaining us for years. Courage comes in all forms. Keep being your authentic self."
Another added: "Christina this is exciting! I hope you have a wonderful time whatever you'll be doing. (Hoping its your walk of fame star?) You truly are a wonderful person and there is no doubt you'll look fab with any of them, or maybe all at once?! ... because why not, show them all off."
Last year, Christina revealed she'd been diagnosed with the incurable condition which is caused when the body’s immune system begins attacking the central nervous system – affecting cognitive function.
She shared the news on Twitter at the time, explaining she was receiving care and support as she battled the health issue.
In the emotional message, the actress wrote: "Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.
"It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it."
She followed her tweet up with a defiant message saying she would not be letting the disease get her down.
