Thiago Silva has given his verdict on Christian Pulisic's transfer to AC Milan as the move edges nearer. The American winger is set to become the ninth Blues player to leave this summer.
Having missed a large chunk of the post-World Cup section of the season due to injury, Pulisic's gametime was cut drastically from the previous year as managerial changes, tactical moves and a bloated squad all combined to leave him on the outside of the group.
Now, with just one goal in all competitions to show for his efforts at Stamford Bridge in the past 12 months, he is set to leave the club one year before his initial five year deal expires.
After joining in 2019 he has experienced a tough time in England, especially since 2021 when his minutes dropped from 1,700 to 1,200 and eventually down to 800. The disappointing 2022/23 season was the least he had played at club level since his first since 2018 when fitness once again curtailed his time at Borussia Dortmund.
That is all now about to be in the past, though, as AC Milan prepare to pay £18.9 million ($24.2m) for Pulisic with a four year contract readied ahead of his medical in Italy.
Having played at San Siro for the Rossoneri for eight years, captaining Milan for much of his career, Silva is well placed to offer his thoughts on the move. With 119 appearances for the club, establishing himself as one of the best defenders on the planet, Silva won the league and Super Cup while in Italy and is now ready to part ways with his USA-born teammate.

"He is a good boy and a fantastic player," Silva said when quizzed on Pulisic at the British Grand Prix on Sunday. "Last year he didn't have a great chance to play with us. I don't know if he will go to Milan one hundred per cent, but if he were to go he would certainly do well."
The deal is now near finalised and after featuring together on 71 occassions for Chelsea, the relationship is now ready to come to an end. Meanwhile, Pulisic is about to rejoin one of his former Blues teammates as he follows Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud to the Serie A giants.
