Christian Pulisic is reportedly no longer willing to join Manchester United following reports claiming that the Chelsea winger could be traded to Old Trafford in a swap deal for Harry Maguire.
The United States captain has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and has been contemplating his future ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which is due to take place in Qatar later this year.
United had emerged as surprise suitors for the 23-year-old earlier this week. The Daily Mail claimed that the Chelsea hierarchy had used United's interest in Pulisic as an opportunity to lodge a cheeky enquiry for United's beleaguered captain Maguire, whose first-team place under Erik ten Hag appears to already be under severe threat.
It was believed that Pulisic was keen on the idea of joining United on loan - but the same publication has now claimed that the former Borussia Dortmund man has made a sensational U-turn and is ready to stay and fight for a first-team spot under Thomas Tuchel after reassessing his options.
It is believed that if Pulisic does fail to muscle his way into Tuchel's first-team plans in the coming weeks, then his preference would be to join a club who could offer Champions League football.
Although United were interested in acquiring Pulisic's services, it is not clear what the club's stance was on Chelsea's surprise interest in Maguire. Ten Hag gave the centre-half a major vote of confidence by insisting he would keep the Old Trafford captaincy this summer after struggling massively last term.

However, Maguire has been unable to repay that faith and has been poor in the opening weeks of the season - leading to speculation that Ten Hag could opt to drop the former Leicester man for Monday's crunch clash with Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are still desperately scouring the market for new recruits and have rekindled their interest in Antony. The Old Trafford hierarchy are once again trying to thrash out a deal with Ajax for the coveted forward ahead of the September 1 deadline.
Antony played a starring role in the Ajax side that clinched a third Dutch title in four years under Ten Hag last year, and was the subject of a fresh £72.3million bid from United this week.
Ajax immediately rebuffed United's latest offer for the 23-year-old - but Antony has refused to commit his future to the club and has refused to train with the Dutch champions in a bid to finally force his dream Old Trafford move through.
