Christian Horner said he knows exactly how his rival Toto Wolff will be feeling after a wretched 2022 season for Mercedes.
The Silver Arrows have been the unstoppable force in Formula 1 ever since the start of the hybrid era. They adapted quickest when those new engines were introduced in the 2014 season, and their rivals have been playing catch-up ever since.
But with another change in car design regulations for 2022 came a redistribution of power. It was clear from early on this year that Mercedes had got their designs wrong, and throughout the season they have rarely been in a position to even entertain the idea of challenging for race wins.
