Christian Eriksen reveals on-field conversations with Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United

Christian Eriksen said he and Bruno Fernandes are getting to know each other better with each game they play together at Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag has started Eriksen in every Premier League game so far this season after signing the midfielder in the summer transfer window. The former Brentford man arrived as a free agent, and has already impressed fans with his close control and impressive range of passing.

This was most recently on display during United's 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday, as the Dane took out three of Mikel Arteta's side with a superb pass that ended with Antony opening the scoring with his debut goal for the Reds.

Fernandes and Eriksen both registered an assist at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, as the new teammates linked up well on the pitch. Having only played together for a handful of games, the former Tottenham man revealed how the pair are developing a better understanding with each other with every passing game.

Speaking to United's in-house media, he said: “Me and Bruno [Fernandes] are starting to get to know each other on the pitch and see how we would like to play, pass the ball and the runs we make. We try to read each other and give each other options and of course Sunday was the perfect link-up to score goals.

“Do we talk on the pitch? Yes we’re trying to. Obviously if someone sees something you try to tell them where and when you expect the ball and where you expect the run. You try to communicate and plan things, but in the end you can’t always do that so you have an idea and you react to the opponent.

“For me also it’s only been a few games here and I’m still trying to learn about my team-mates and get to know them and get to know how they are as players.”
