Chris Sutton has laughed off claims that Rangers will 'contact' the SFA over Alfredo Morelos' disallowed goal against Celtic.
In one of the major talking points from Saturday's thrilling 3-2 victory for Celtic in the Old Firm derby, Morelos put the ball in the net but was penalised by referee Kevin Clancy for a foul on Hoops defender Alistair Johnston. VAR did not overrule Clancy's decision much the ire of those of a Rangers persuasion including Ally McCoist, Michael Beale and centurion goalscorer James Tavernier.
Sky Sports News then reported the Ibrox side will 'write to the SFA' to seek clarity over the decision given in the derby as Ange Postecoglou's side went twelve points clear and put one hand on the Premiership title. But Hoops hero Sutton was incredulous in his response and even predicted what he believes the governing body might say in response.
He tweeted: "You couldn’t make this up. SFA will write back 'Dear Rangers, it’s because it was a foul by big Alf'."
Beale said post-match: "We definitely deserved something from the game.
"There are one or two decisions that I think have gone against us, so I'm a bit disappointed with that.
"Certainly, in terms of the goal Alfredo scores first half, their boy [Johnston] isn't trying to play the ball and if you look at Alfredo's shirt and the number on his back it's twisted round to his left shoulder. That would prove that both were at it."
