Celtic hero Chris Sutton has hit back at Jason Cundy following Arsenal's defeat to PSV with a 'fifth tier level' in European competition quip.
The talkSPORT radio show host branded Celtic a 'fourth tier' side following their Champions League draw with Shakhtar Donetsk that ultimately ended any hopes of playing in Europa League football after Christmas. He also claimed Ange Postecoglou's side and the rest of Scottish football are 'miles off it' as he took aim during his Sports Bar segment with Jamie O'Hara on Tuesday night.
Rangers idol Barry Ferguson jumped to the defence of the Scottish game in a passionate response live on Go Radio after the comments from the pundit and Sutton has now had a sly pop following The Gunners' defeat to PSV in the Europa League. Rangers and Giovanni van Bronckhorst knocked out the Dutch side over two legs to reach the Champions League group stages and Sutton has made reference to that result as he questioned Cundy's logic over his comments after Mikel Arteta's men were downed in a stadium that the Light Blues picked up a victory after Antonio Colak's solo strike.

He wrote on Twitter: "Arsenal lose to PSV. Rangers knocked out PSV from the Champions League. So by a certain persons logic does it mean that Arsenal are at fifth tier level in European competition?"
Speaking on Go Radio, last night, Fergie said: "I always stick up for Scottish football. These guys have never came up here and played.
"It is a hard place to play. Look, maybe the football is not the best but do you know what? You need to give 100 per cent up here and I don't like when the English have a go at our game.
"It was like that when I went down there and played. It was kind of looked down on a wee bit.
"But listen I always stick behind the Scottish game."
