Chris Sutton brutally teases Ally McCoist over Celtic vs Rangers result

Chris Sutton has brutally trolled Rangers hero Ally McCoist as Celtic moved twelve points clear in the Scottish Premiership title race.

A Kyogo Furuhashi double and a Jota strike was enough to defeat Michael Beale’s Gers, despite James Tavernier grabbing a double for the visitors.

Rangers also had a controversial goal ruled out after Alfredo Morelos was adjudged to have fouled Alistair Johnston in the build-up.

The decision prompted a furious reaction from McCoist, and Sutton quickly referenced that in his post-match tweet.

He said: “Terrific Glasgow Derby. Lucky Ange coming up trumps once again. Ally McCoist in tears over the Morelos ruled-out goal and said to me yesterday Rangers had closed the gap.”

McCoist was on commentary duties for Sky Sports for the derby fixture and he fizzed over Kevin Clancy’s call and also called out VAR official Nick Walsh.

He said: "Honest to goodness, it is absolutely embarrassing the way we are running VAR. Absolutely embarrassing. We are a laughing stock.

"He gives him a little nudge. Nick, what are you seeing, son."

Fellow co-commentator Andy Walker felt similar to McCoist, insisting that there was no obvious foul in the build-up to the goal.

He added: "I think if that's at the other end, everyone is wanting a goal. It's six and half a dozen."
