Chris Sutton brands Rangers boss Michael Beale 'lucky man' with Ange Postecoglou exit looming closer

Chris Sutton has branded Michael Beale a 'lucky man' with Ange Postecoglou edging towards the Celtic exit door.

The Hoops gaffer has been the preferred candidate for Daniel Levy to take over as manger of Tottenham and after reaching a 'verbal agreement' with the 57-year-old, the Scottish champions have since granted the English Premier League outfit permission to discuss the vacant post left by Antonio Conte with their Treble-winning manager.

Postecoglou himself used Rangers counterpart Beale's phrase in his Celtic Scottish Premiership trophy day address to the Parkhead faithful. Sutton and Beale has shared a few battles this year off the park and now the Parkhead idol - who will j oin the coverage of Scottish football on Sky Sports from next season - has aimed another pop in the direction of the Ibrox boss.

He tweeted: "Michael Beale is a lucky man…"

It looks like it could be all change at both sides of the Old Firm next season . Brendan Rodgers has been installed as the bookies' favourite to come back to Glasgow's east end in a shock return for a second stint while Rangers are also going through a transformation of their own.

Ibrox said farewell to five out of contract star s as they gave Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Allan McGreogr and Filip Helander a big ovation in the final home game of the season following the announcement of their departures.

Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin arrived in January to kick off the recruitment drive and both has already established themselves as fans' favourites. Two new summer signings in the shape of Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling have penned pre-contract deals and will be determined to start just as well as their new Ibrox team-mates.

Further arrivals are expected in a big rebuild on the park as Beale bids to dethrone Celtic and reach the Champions League group stage.
