Chris Rock has reportedly been 'obsessed' with Jada Pinkett Smith for decades after brutally taking shots at her and husband Will Smith during his Netflix special.
It's nearing the one year anniversary of the Oscars where Will stormed on stage and slapped comedian Chris after he made a joke about his wife resembling G.I Jane.
Following the controversial incident, the I Am Legend actor has been banned from the awards for 10 years while Chris has just recently broken his silence in his live Netflix special Selective Outrage, reports the Mirror.
The funny man, 58, remained tight lipped about the assault after it took place, but in his comedy performance,. he joked the slap "still hurts". In his special, he said: "I did some jokes about her. Who gives a f**k? That's how it is: She starts it, I finish it."
He continued: "That's what the f**k happened. Nobody's pickin' on this b*tch. She started this s**t. Nobody was pickin' on her."
A source close to Jada claims that she had no part in this drama other than being insulted and claims the comedian has had an issue with her for years. Jada has had no part in all of this other than being heckled," the source told People.
"Chris is obsessed with her and that's been going on for almost 30 years. Look where he chose to film his Netflix special. Her hometown [of Baltimore]. Obsessed."
As part of his latest stand-up routine, Chris said: "Years ago, his wife said I should quit the Oscars. I shouldn't host 'cause her man didn't get nominated for Concussion. And then he gives me a f***ing concussion."
This comes after the 2016 Oscars ceremony where Jada showed her support for Black actors as part of the "#OscarsSoWhite" movement following the 20 acting nominations for the Academy Awards which were all granted to white actors.
The source counters: "She never asked Chris to not host the Oscars ever. She publicly said in a Facebook post at the time Chris would be a great Oscars host and is perfect for the job."
The source told the publication they "were shocked at how many times Chris used the word bitch in referring to Jada".
