Jeremy was reported to have been ploughing the road close to his family property near the Mt Rose-Ski Tahoe resort near Lake Tahoe, which is approximately 25 miles from Reno, Nevada, when disaster struck.

The star is said to have been trying to help free a family member's vehicle following a "massive storm" on New Year's Eve.

According to reports, a Snow Cat ploughing machine was responsible for the actor's injuries, causing him to lose "a lot of blood" and suffer "extensive" injuries.
