Chris Moyles has angered viewers within seconds of appearing on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
The acclaimed radio DJ drew ire for comments made during the brief meet and greet, as the series got underway on Sunday November 6 on ITV1 and ITV Hub.
Introducing himself to fellow contestants, the Radio X presenter said he was the "best broadcaster of my generation".
Immediately, viewers started piling in on Twitter.
"‘I am Chris Moyles and I am the greatest broadcaster of my generation…’ Spelt Simon Jordan wrong pal. How dare he insult Simon like that. Fuming now," one person wrote.
Another added: "Did Chris Moyles really just introduce himself as the greatest broadcaster of his generation? Bit full of himself! Hope he was joking lol." @AnnaChristie5 said: "Chris Moyles is as modest as ever, I see."
And @AmyC302991 wrote: "Forgot how much Chris moyles is full of himself #ImACeleb."
Sunday's launch show saw a new batch of 10 celebrities enter the Australian jungle for the first time since 2019, as the past two years were shot at Gwrych Castle in North Wales due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Among them were pop star Boy George and Love Island star Olivia Attwood, who were revealed as the public’s vote to become Jungle VIPs, but this was not as luxurious as it first appeared as they later discovered this meant “Very Isolated People”.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly also confirmed there will be two extra arrivals to the camp and poked fun at former health secretary Matt Hancock, who has received criticism in Westminster for deciding to appear on the show.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said he is “very disappointed” in his former cabinet colleague.
Speaking on his way to Cop27 in Egypt, Mr Sunak said he supported the chief whip’s decision to suspend Mr Hancock from the Conservative Party, adding that he would not have time to watch the ITV series.
Mr Hancock, who represents West Suffolk, said he decided to enter the jungle to “go where the people are” rather than “sit in ivory towers in Westminster”.
However, Mr Sunak told The Sun he was “very disappointed” in the former health secretary because “MPs should be working hard for their constituents”.
The new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here airs every night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITV Hub
