Coldplay 's Chris Martin has revealed his girlfriend Dakota Johnson has helped him to improve shows for hearing-impaired audience members thanks to a special gift she gave him.
The 32-year-old actor gifted Chris, 45, a SUBPAC which is a vest that allows wearers to physically feel sound frequencies they might not be able to hear.
The singer-songwriter then decided to hand the vests out to hard-of-hearing audience members at Coldplay shows.
The concerts also provide sign language interpreters for those who need them.
"My partner, she said: "I got you a Christmas present of a SUBPAC," Chris told CBS Mornings.
Dakota seems to have gotten the idea from Billie Eilish 's brother Finneas O'Connell.
Chris added: "She said it's like what Finneas Eilish wears onstage when he's with Billie, and it vibrates, so it's useful for someone like Finneas to hear where the one is on the bass drum."
Chris recently surprised pub-goers in Bath as he sang and played piano while enjoying a pint with Dakota at The Stag Inn.
The pub's landlord, Chris Parkin, shared the experience on social media and said: "I've seen a few things in my time but nothing quite like that.
"You never know who might pop in for a pint! What a lovely man he is."
Chris played Sky Full of Stars after overhearing a conversation between the landlord and locals about plans for an upcoming wedding.
The musician asked what they were talking about and was told by the bride and groom that theyr wedding song was going to be Sky Full of Stars which he then performed for the patrons.
Chris and Dakota began dating in 2017 after Chris' marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow.
Chris shares his two children - Apple, 18, and Moses, 16 - with his amicable ex-wife, who is also friendly with Dakota.
Dakota and Chris have mostly kept quiet about their relationship.
"We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cosy and private," Dakota told Elle UK.
She added: "Most of the partying takes place inside my house."
