CHENNAI/TRICHY: Moves are afoot within the DMK to push for the induction of Chepauk-Triplicane MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin into the state cabinet led by his father M K Stalin. On Monday, DMK district units, including Trichy South, Thanjavur Central and Dindigul East and West, passed resolutions calling for inducting Udhayanidhi into the cabinet. More DMK units, including Coimbatore, are gearing up to pass similar resolutions on Tuesday.
Udhayanidhi issued a statement late in the evening, requesting his supporters not to pass resolutions. He said he understood that it was being done "out of love for him". Incidentally, Stalin was in Trichy on Monday as part of his two-day visit to the delta districts.
