Chloe Madeley welcomes first baby with former England rugby player James Haskell

Chloe Madeley and James Haskell are 'beaming with pride' after welcoming their first child together. The couple, who wed in 2018, announced that they were expecting a baby in February.

They have now announced that they are proud parents to a baby girl. Manchester-born Chloe, 35, the daughter of former This Morning hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, previously told how she feared she would never conceive naturally after two years of trying for a baby.

Exclusively sharing the news with OK! magazine Chloe, 35, and former England rugby union player James, 37, said “We are delighted to welcome to the world our daughter. We are utterly besotted and beaming with pride” The couple also shared a sweet snap of their baby girl's hand.

Chloe’s Good Morning Britain presenter dad Richard previously revealed that his former Dancing On Ice star daughter was due on August 7. The personal trainer and nutritionist found out she was expecting a girl during a meal with her famous parents at the family home.

James found out when his wife arranged for a box to be delivered to their house carrying a pink baby bear outfit. Chloe decided she wanted to become a mum while James was starring in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in the last series filmed in Australia before the Covid-19 coronavirus hit in 2019.

After the pair didn't fall pregnant following months without using contraception she became concerned that IVF or adoption may have been their only option to have a family. And she admitted there was a few months where she was scared it wouldn’t happen for them naturally.

Chloe shared the happy news in an Instagram post. Sharing a video montage with pictures from ultrasound scans and selfies during her pregnancy so far, Chloe simply captioned: "Little one," alongside a heart.

James also shared the same video to his own Instagram page and said: "Chloe and I are so excited to announce we are expecting our first child! From the moment I saw her and heard her little heartbeat I fell in love! Lets hope she looks like her Mum."

Last month Chloe was praised for showing off her pregnancy body as she stripped off while heavily pregnant. She posted a snap of herself looking out over a green garden without an inch of clothing on and only her blonde locks covering her breasts. She was encouraged to post after she had been asked by an Instagram follower if she was ‘excited to get back in shape’ after having her child.

"I was asked on IG this morning if I’m excited to get back in shape post pregnancy. I nearly skipped over the question so I didn’t have to answer it and undoubtedly have my answer be misconstrued and misjudged," she said.

"Because the answer is yes. I am extremely excited to rehab my body postnatally; my core, my pelvic floor, my glutes, everything that has had to shift, make way and change for my little potato will need to be rehabbed and nursed back to health. I am excited to PATIENTLY watch my physique change again, too. That doesn’t mean I don’t LOVE my pregnant body…clearly I do."

Chloe said she'd had the candid photo in her camera roll since June but had been 'too scared' to post it in case people thought it was "overly confident, or in case they make something of mine that I think is beautiful, ugly." She asked: "Funny that, isn’t it? The fear of sharing a positive relationship with your body is matched on either side of present day love and acceptance, or later date goals to evolve, because so many will project onto it their negative opinions."

She added: "So screw it, celebrate your body, even if it doesn’t fit the trend right now. 'Self love' should be an option for EVERYONE, after all."
