Chloe Madeley says she 'couldn't care less' about pregnancy weight gain in candid post

Chloe Madeley reckons she couldn't care less about putting on weight during pregnancy.

The daughter of Judy Finnigan and Richard Madeley is due to give birth to her first child next month.

Taking to Instagram, the mum-to-be, 35, revealed she'd put on 8kg since finding out she was expecting - but she won't be jumping on the scales again anytime soon.

Speaking in a Q&A yesterday, Chloe said: "I last weighed myself at 35 weeks and I'd gained exactly 8kg/17lbs. I honestly couldn't care less about my weight.

"I'm focused on staying active, even if just lightly active, eating healthy with some daily indulgences, hydration, and getting as much sleep as possible.

"I think get off the scales and do the same, that's all that matters."

The personal trainer, who is married to former rugby player James Haskell, later admitted to feeling nervous ahead of her due date at the beginning of August.

She explained: "99.9% of the time I am beyond excited for the next chapter, both the childbirth and the newborn experiences. My brain can't really compute beyond that yet tbh.

"But I won't lie, there's also the ODD moment where I wonder if the life I have built for myself, a life I LOVE, is now ruined, never to return again.

"Sorry if that offends anyone but it's the truth and I know A LOT of women can relate to that fear, which I actually think is a good sign re what you've achieved as an independent woman in your own right."

Despite her nerves, Chloe gushed over her "MAD" pregnancy journey, concluding: "Me, my body, my little chubby chubster inside it and my partner, all embarking on a brand new adventure together. I never say this, but... it's been WILD it really has, though!"

The star's father Richard is also excited about the brand new adventure, telling the Loose Women panel last month he couldn't wait to meet his granddaughter.

"There's something about your daughter having a little girl, it shouldn't make a difference, but it kind of does," he gushed.

The GMB host went on to say he loved being a grandparent, musing that having children was "like a house" and grandchildren were "an extension on it".

He later added: "It's somewhere new to go and you can always give them back."

The presenter and his wife, Judy, are already grandparents to their son Jack's child, Kit, who was born in 2018.
