Chloe cast on BBC1 as psychological drama makes Sunday night debut

Keeping up the trend so far for 2022 of a new drama every week, there's another one making its debut on Sunday night on BBC - psychological thriller Chloe.

This year has been a brilliant one for drama fans and we're only five weeks in.

While ITV have tasting ratings success with the likes of Anne and the return of The Bay, the BBC have pulled in millions to each episode of the likes of The Tourist, Four Lives, Rules of The Game and, most recently, The Responder.

Channel 5 got in on the game this week with The Teacher and, while some viewers are still smarting over how that ended, Chloe will launch on BBC1 on Sunday, February 6.

It tells the story of how Becky, who still lives with her mother, compares herself to other seemingly more perfect lives on social media - fixating in particular on that of Chloe, a former friend and played by Poppy Gilbert.

Chloe is married and has a set of high-achieving friends around her, a life that seems far from Becky's, with Becky's fixation on Chloe soon becoming a dangerous obsession as a sudden tragedy pulls her in deeper than she ever dreamed possible.

Those many people who rushed to binge watch Netflix drama Stay Close will recognise Poppy Gilbert, the actress who plays Chloe, as she played the very unnerving Barbie, alongside an equally creepy Ken.

Richard Greenbank - Jack Farthing

Josh Stanfield - Brandon Michael Hall

Pam Green - Lisa Palfrey

Ahead of episode 1, Chloe's director Alice Seabright commented: "All the characters in Chloe are flawed, and our exceptional cast have portrayed them in all their contradictions. I’m excited for viewers to see their layers peeled back during the series.

"Nothing is quite as it first seems. I empathise with every character, but each of them must be measured by the yardstick of their actions. We may squirm as we recognise our own demons in them.
