The search to find the best fish and chips around Glasgow can often be a never-ending quest, with chippies in the city centre, suburbs and nearby towns and villages each claiming their favourites should have the crown.
Sometimes though, one chippy will stand out and gain national recognition helping add weight to the argument in their favour.
One such Fish and Chip shop, just under an hour from the city in Largs, has just been named in the running for a top UK award which has seen it named as one of the three finalists for the 'Best Quality Fish and Chips'.

The National Federation of Fish Friers has picked out seaside favourite The Fish Works in Largs in the final three for the Quality Accreditation category at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.
The top Scottish chippy will now go head to head with two others - one in Ipswich and another in Colchester - following extensive judging from an anonymous panel of industry experts.
The category celebrates eateries throughout the UK that give their customers the best quality fish and chips.
The awards ceremony, hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), will take place on February 28 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, presented by Comedian Jason Manford.
