The Philippine foreign ministry summoned China’s envoy to express concern over his “provocative and unacceptable” comment that Beijing “may easily win” a conflict with the Southeast Asian nation.

Foreign secretary Ma Theresa Lazaro said that Manila wouldn’t tolerate any attempt at intimidation by a foreign country.
