Michigan prosecutors have charged a Chinese citizen with voter fraud and perjury after allegedly casting a ballot in the 2024 election. The 19-year-old Chinese man, a student residing in Ann Arbor, was found to be ineligible to vote in federal elections as he is not a US citizen.
Michigan officials, including the secretary of state and attorney general, along with local prosecutors, have emphasized the seriousness of the situation. They stated that any noncitizen attempting to vote fraudulently in Michigan will face prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
