China reclaimed the top spot in the Paris Games medal table after Li Yuehong secured a gold medal in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event on Monday. Li, a world record holder in the shooting discipline, displayed exceptional skill and dominance in the final, finishing seven shots ahead of Cho Yeongjae from South Korea.
The shift in the medal standings occurred after China temporarily lost the lead to another athlete, Noah Lyles, who clinched the gold in the 100m race. However, Li's outstanding performance in the skeet event propelled China back to the top position with a total of 20 gold medals.
Adding to China's success, Wang Xinjie, another talented athlete from the nation, secured the bronze medal in the same event, further contributing to China's impressive medal tally at the Paris Games.
