A former president of a children's not-for-profit seemingly wanted to live beyond her means when she stole more than $10,000 in fundraising money from the organisation.

Rhonda Ruth O'Sign, 63, was on Tuesday sentenced to a three-month wholly suspended jail term and 140 hours of community service after pleading guilty to dishonesty offences.
