Children's distress as Sainsbury's-bought Easter egg covered in furry mould

*Warning, this article contains images that may upset some readers

A mum said her children were left "disappointed" and "grossed out" after opening their Sainsbury's-bought Easter egg to find one covered in green and grey furry mould. Louis McGregor, 42, from Brockworth had bought a pair of eggs for £3.60 each, two weeks ago ready for a big Easter egg hunt for her two daughters.

She had travelled five miles to a Sainsbury's in Cheltenham to get the eggs especially, as her local one didn't have any. Mrs McGregor then stored 'The Yolkers' eggs in a cupboard ready for the Easter celebrations a few days later, reports Gloucestershire Live.
