A child killer who evaded justice for almost three years has finally been jailed after a DNA breakthrough.
On November 28, 1994, James Watson, now 41, lured vulnerable six-year-old Rikki Neave into woodland near his home in Peterborough. Watson, who was 13 at the time, strangled the child to fulfil a "morbid fantasy" he had told his mother about three days earlier.
He stripped Rikki and posed his naked body in a star shape for sexual gratification, deliberately "exhibiting" him near a children's woodland den. Watson was today handed a 15-year-prison sentence.
