The number of homeless children living in temporary accommodation in England has hit a record high, reaching 176,130 in December, official figures show.
Latest government statistics have also revealed that there are now 134,210 households across the country living homeless in temporary accommodation, up five per cent in a year. However, this also marks a slight quarter-to-quarter fall in the overall number for the first time in three years.
