Child Benefit payments set to rise next month - here are the new amounts

Child Benefit payments will increase in April, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has confirmed.

Parents or guardians raising a child aged below 16 or a young person under 20 who is still in full-time education or on certain approved training courses, will be eligible for the payment. The benefit will be paid every four weeks, either on a Monday or a Tuesday. There is no limit on how many children a person can claim for.

As the benefit is means-tested, an income below £50,000 and savings do not impact the amount a person receives and you do not need to have paid any National Insurance contributions to receive it, reports SomersetLive. Here are the full details on the confirmed changes to Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance payments from April 11, 2022.
