Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been ruled out for the team’s Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The move to sit Kelce was a coaching decision and not the result of an injury to the star pass catcher. He will end his 2023 regular season with 93 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns.

Kelce has made headlines this season for his relationship with pop music superstar Taylor Swift, but his work on the gridiron has been as superb as ever. The former University of Cincinnati Bearcat remains the Chiefs’ top receiver, and his presence will be crucial in Kansas City’s effort to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
While he won’t play in this contest, fans can expect to see Kelce on the field next week when the Chiefs face their first test of the AFC playoffs. Expect Kelce to have an outsized impact in Kansas City’s next matchup after getting a week to rest his legs.
