Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was a late addition to the injury report this past week, but that won’t stop him from suiting up and playing in the most important game of the season on Sunday.
According to multiple reports, Kelce is expected to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. This comes after dealing with back spasms late in the practice week that landed him on the final injury report on Friday. The veteran tight end has received treatment and is expected to be good to go for the game that will determine who represents the AFC conference in Super Bowl LVII.

Both ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s James Palmer have indicated that Kelce’s condition has improved. Palmer even indicated that Kelce was able to participate in the team’s walkthrough on Saturday with no new issues.
There was some concern among Chiefs fans that Jody Fortson’s activation from injured reserve could be a sign that Kelce’s injury was more significant. The team always had planned to activate Fortson for this game regardless of Kelce’s injury status following the practice week. Andy Reid indicated that Fortson could return to action before the practice week even began.
