The days are ticking down quickly to Super Bowl LVII as the Kansas City Chiefs seek their second title in four seasons. The tense and often stressful game on Sunday can have many players on edge before kick-off, even with the fun festivities in Arizona.
Rihanna being the halftime show headliner, managed to lighten the mood for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes as he fell for a prank from former NFL receiver Brandon Marshall during Wednesday’s press conference. Among the media members, Marshall told Mahomes that Rihanna recently said he is, “the greatest quarterback ever.”
“You got me up here smiling,” said Mahomes, “It makes me feel great. She’s gonna crush it at halftime. I have family members that I think are more excited about the halftime show than they are (about) the game. And so whatever Rihanna says is like the gospel, so I’m glad that she went with me for that honor.”
Watch: Brandon Marshall (@BMarshall) asked Patrick Mahomes (@PatrickMahomes) how it felt that Rihanna (@rihanna) called him the "greatest quarterback ever"…plot twist, she never said that 😂⤵️

Marshall waited for Mahomes to finish to bring him back to reality, saying, “She didn’t. She didn’t.” to laughter from the rest of the room.
“I can’t believe you got me with that,” Mahomes said, followed by more laughter.
Mahomes will be in a battle on Sunday against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles, so it was good to see he’s a little loose before the big game. Rihanna may not have said those things about Mahomes, but his reaction when he believed she did will hopefully result in him earning those words in reality after Sunday’s game.
