The Kansas City Chiefs’ defense will be tested on Sunday against a prolific Baltimore Ravens offense led by all-world quarterback Lamar Jackson.
During a press conference with the media following practice on Wednesday, star defensive tackle Chris Jones shared his thoughts on the upcoming matchup against the Ravens.
“[Lamar Jackson] is an MVP caliber quarterback,” Jones told reporters. “He has a good chance of winning MVP this year, that just shows you how dynamic a player he is. That defense is one of the best defenses in the league. I think overall as a team they’re one of the best teams in the league.
“They’ve showed that throughout the year, how competitive they are against the better teams in the league. Look at a team like [the 49ers], look at what they did against Miami. They’ve been showing that type of dominance throughout this year, so it’s going to be tough, it’s a challenge, but I’m excited for it.”
Baltimore has 11 wins against teams above .500 this season, including their playoff win against the Texans last week. The Ravens’ offense is averaging 28.4 points per game while their defense only allows 16.5 points per game.
The Chiefs have a tall task in front of them and will need to play a perfect game to beat the Ravens on Sunday.
