The Kansas City Chiefs defense has played better than many critics expected heading into the season. The early success isn’t a surprise for the players as they have bonded over demanding more respect for the unit.
Second-year cornerback Trent McDuffie has been a significant piece of the defense’s growth as he’s stayed healthy and effective. The return of All-Pro defensive lineman Chris Jones provided an extra jolt over the last two games as more pressure has been put on opposing quarterbacks. McDuffie shared his thoughts on Jones’ influence and impact on the unit’s exceptional play to start the season.

“So when it comes to first down, second down, third down, being able to stop the run plays gaps, get at the quarterback. He’s a tremendous player. And I know I love them, and we were just goofing on the sidelines. Love to be around him. But yeah, it’s great to have a D line (Defensive Line) we can get back to and get pressure.”
McDuffie has shown to be more aggressive in the secondary over the season’s first three weeks. He’s forced two fumbles and continues his mission to create takeaways for the defense this season.
