A number of foods have been recalled in recent days over safety fears by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
Popular food items including chicken goujons, salmon, frozen shrimp, and Cadbury chocolate desserts have been marked as unsafe by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. The affected food products were sold in big-name supermarkets such as Tesco, Lidl, Dunnes, and more.
Notices will be displayed at point-of-sale if you are unsure if the product in your freezer is potentially one of the recalled products. Here are the recall notices issued by FSAI in recent days:

Tesco Southern Fried Chicken Goujons
Tesco is this week urgently recalling batches of their Southern Fried Chicken Goujons due to the possible presence of Salmonella, according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
The batches affected are Tesco Southern Fried Chicken Goujons (frozen) with pack size: 360g and batch codes 23122 and 23123. Their best before date is May 31, 2024 and their country of origin is Poland.
Recall notices will also be displayed at point-of-sale in Tesco stores. According to the FSAI, people who get Salmonella usually develop symptoms such as diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody, and other symptoms may include fever, headache, and abdominal cramps.
Full Moon Raw Frozen Shrimp
The FSAI is recalling a batch of Full Moon Raw Frozen Shrimp due to the presence of Vibrio cholera and Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale. The affected batch of this problem has a code of 29936030, and it's best before date is 01/03/2025.
According to the FSAI, Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a bacteria and it can be harmful for children aged under five, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions as it may cause dehydration.
The FSAI said: "Symptoms typically include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, fever, headache, and watery diarrhoea (which may be bloody or contain flecks of mucus). Symptoms generally start within 6 to 48 hours and usually last between three to five days."
Oak Smoked Farmed Irish Organic Salmon
The FSAI has recalled a batch of Wrights of Howth Oak product Oak Smoked Farmed Irish Organic Salmon due to the presence of bacteria Listeria monocytogenes.
The pack sizes are pack size: 120g, 140g, 250g & 350g. The batch code is 21P, and its best before date: 19/05/2023. Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symtpoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.
Cadbury chocolate desserts
Several batches of chocolate Cadbury desserts which are sold in Lidl stores are being recalled due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
The symptoms of a Listeria monocytogenes infection can be mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea but in rare cases the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. The FSAI is urging people to to eat these affected products, and that recall notices will also be displayed at point-of-sale in Lidl stores.

Dunnes Stores Pork Smoky BBQ Quick Fry Loin Chops
FSAI issued a notice that a batch of Dunnes Stores Smoky BBQ Pork Loin Chops is being recalled due to the presence of Salmonella.
The batch was sold as fresh and is past its expiry date, but the label states it is suitable for home freezing, meaning the product could still be in your kitchen.
The FSAI has urged people not to eat the meat, and that notices will be displayed at point-of-sale at Dunnes Stores. According to the FSAI, people infected with Salmonella usually develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between six and 72 hours.
The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody and other symptoms may include headache, fever, and abdominal cramps., with the illness usually lasting around four to seven days.
