A Chicago woman who posts on TikTok as @yareliloveee shared a nighttime video she said showed a police officer following her into her driveway. On-screen text in the clip reads, “POV: A dumba** cop follows you home unprovoked with no reason of cause.” The video later drew 707,700 views, 94,400 likes, and 5,000 comments.
The footage, filmed from a first-person view, appeared to show a residential driveway at night. A black police SUV marked “ELMWOOD POLICE” and displaying an Illinois license plate sat in the driveway with its headlights on. A male officer stood beside the open driver’s side door.
