Chhattisgarh's Pakhi Bhatt bags All India Tennis Championship Series title

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh’s Pakhi Bhatt defeated her counterpart Anamya Dubey in straight sets by 6-2, 6-1 in the women’s singles final of the All India Tennis Tournament Championship Series U-18 Boys and Girls, played in Raipur on Thursday.

Earlier, Pakhi defeated Priya Das of Odisha in the semifinal by 6-2, 6-0 to secure a berth in the final while Anamya Dubey defeated Avantika Gutgutia from Tamil Nadu by 6-1, 6-1 in the other semifinal, played on Wednesday.

In the boys semifinals played on Thursday, Emon Bhatt of Chhattisgarh and Pradyuman Singh Tomar from Maharashtra defeated their respective opponents to meet in the title clash on Friday. While Emon defeated Maharashtra’s Parth Deorkar in a marathon three-set match by 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, Pradyuman defeated Odisha’s Kamlesh Rath in three-set match by 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.

In doubles semi finals, pair of Pradyuman-Parth of Maharashtra defeated their counterpart Ujjwal Verma-Anchitya Verma by 6-1, 6-3 while Chhattisgarh’s Atharwa Raj Balani-Emon Bhatt defeated Odisha pair in a marathon three-set match by 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.
