Chhattisgarh CM appeals citizens to eat bore bassi on May Day

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh chief minister has appealed to the citizens in state to consume ‘bore-baasi’ – cooked fermented rice relished by farmers and labourers—on May day as a gesture of paying respect to them.

In a video message CM said that this food is the support system for hardworking labourers and in order to acknowledge their efforts, let’s eat what they relish. CM said that the labourers and farmers consume bore-baasi for lunch or before leaving home for work in Chhattisgarh and the state being a place of hard working people, we should pay respect to them on labourers' day by consuming bore-baasi.

He said that bore baasi has a lot of significance in the lives of labourers which is full of vitamins, keeps stomach cool in summers, prevents wastage of extra rice cooked the last night and helps in digestion. Baghel said that the government has decided to eat bore baasi as a gesture and has appealed others in the state as well.
