Chhattisgarh Board to hold offline exams for Class 10 & 12

RAIPUR: Amid Covid cases on the decline, Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has decided hold secondary and higher secondary examination in pen-and-paper mode in schools from March 2. Earlier, the students of Class 10 and 12 were provided different centres, other than their own school, for appearing in examination. The decision was taken in order to maintain Covid protocol and social distancing.

CGBSE secretary VK Goyal told TOI the timetable for examinations were issued in December itself. Syllabus has been reduced by 30% as majority of the schools could not complete courses as pandemic situation continued this year as well.

Examinations of board students is scheduled from March 2 and a notice has been issued by CGBSE for candidates appearing for board exams.

As per the notice, students registered for the exam will be required to submit at least two assignments mandatorily out of the six assignments given to Class 10 and 12 board students. Those students who did not submit these assignments, will not be allowed to appear for the exams. Practical Exams have almost completed in most of the schools and preparations have begun for board exams. Meanwhile, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced schedule for its Class 10 and 12 offline examinations which will start from April 26.
